Six Weeks Out

Hi Everyone,

I know everyone hoped that the new teacher would have already started, but some things are just out of our control. I just spent some time looking through everyone's blog (I made a few comments). I see you having fun with light painting and some time exposures. At home watch this video (it is on YouTube). It shows how one photographer combine numerous images together through layers and masks. It takes some work, but you can do some amazing images. It just takes patience.

What I didn't see is a truly awesome Photocubist image (although Juvian's was so simple and crisp that it was pretty darn good). I'll be honest, that is probably my favorite project that my advanced kids did for the last five years, but I have had only a few that really have blown my mind.

So, if you still need to do one or want to do another, I challenge you to take it to the next level. Change perspectives, put a detail in the midst of a wider shot, move your subject around, or do something that just doesn't look right. In Photoshop, add a border and a drop shadow - it just makes it look better. Juvian did it and here is one of my examples.

Well, I still plan to come visit at some point. My new job is going very well, but it is sure keeping me busy.

Take care. Happy Thanksgiving. Happy Holiday Season.

Be excellent.

Mr. M
